Welcome to the official page for the 14th International Congress of Collectors of Pressing Irons. The venue for this event is Napier, Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, and will be staged on 16-18 October 2009
Napier is a mere 1½ hour drive from Taupo over the ranges that ensure a Mediterranean climate; Hawke's Bay has long hot summers as well as clear blue skies in the middle of winter. Hawke's Bay is one of the sunniest regions of New Zealand. Sheltered by ranges to the west the Hawke's Bay landscape opens up to reveal rolling hills and fertile plains. The perfect environment for orchards and, of course, internationally acclaimed wineries. The Art Deco city of Napier sits by the glistening waters of the Pacific - paradise! The city of Hastings and the township of Havelock North are nestled among the orchards and vines. With an annual average of 2200, sunshine hours are high, while rainfall and humidity are low. In fact, Hawke's Bay has the second highest sunshine hours and the lowest rainfall in the North Island. Whatever time of the year you visit, you're pretty much guaranteed to have sunny, dry weather - perfect for exploring this stunning region |

Napier liegt etwa 1 ½ Stunden Autofahrt von Taupo entfernt. Die zu ueberquerende Bergkette ist fuer das mittelmeer-aehnliche Klima verantwortlich; Hawke’s Bay ist bekannt fuer lange und heisse Sommer, aber auch fuer einen kalten und blauen Himmel im Winter. Das Wetter stellt sicher, dass die Wahl schwer faellt, was man sehen oder unternehmen will. Diese Aussage faellt nicht leichyt, doch sind wir ueberzeugt, dass Sie diese Gegend so ins Herz schliessen werden, dass Sie gar nicht mehr weg wollen! Hawke’s Bay ist eine der sonnigsten Region Neuseelands. Im Westen durch eine Bergkette geschuetzt, oeffnet sich die Landschaft zu sanften Huegeln und sehr fruchtbare Felder. Die ideale Voraussetzung fuer Obstanbau und natuerlich fuer die international bekannten Rebfelder – die Reben wachsen hier nicht an Haengen sondern im Flachland. Napier ist als Art Deco Stadt welbekannt und liegt am Ufer des Pazifik-Paradieses. Die Stadt Hastings und das Dorf Havelock North liegen inmitten von Obstplantagen und Reben. Die durchschnittliche Sonnenscheindauer pro Jahr liegt mit 2,200 Stunden sehr hoch, waehrend die Luiftfeuchtigkeit und der Niederschlag tief liegen.
